FLAVA, a former Washington, D.C. foster care child, speaks out to
youth and adults about how he overcame mental/physical abuse from
his mother and foster care to help motivate others to achieve their
goals.  “As a conscious effort to take on life I have found that many use
life circumstances as a invisible chain to stop them from making
progress. By controlling your Mind, you can control your Life.  Put your
life on pause and nothing will happen.  Push play and the World is at
your finger tips."

While living in foster care, FLAVA age 14, landed a job at 93.9 WKYS
FM, in Washington D.C., becoming the youngest Air Personality on air
at that time.  He continued to pursue his career and opened a lucrative
Disc Jockey and Pro-Sound company at the age of seventeen and now
owns A Car Wash, Event Promotions and Marketing Company and a
paid consultant for Artist and DJ's throughout the country.

Seeing that group home life was taking him down the wrong path
FLAVA left foster care, forcing him to get a G.E.D. Armed with a G.E.
D., some computer education and people skills,  DJ FLAVA has been
able to work for many large companies, Covenant House Washington,
the United States Post Office and East River Family Strengthening
Collaborative to name a few.

Still at 93.9 WKYS, FLAVA has in site another objective and that is to
show others the skills he has perfected in overcoming life’s hardships
and how to achieve goals.  Whether personal or business, large or
small, when you hear FLAVA speak you know you can do whatever it is
you set your mind to doing.

FLAVA is available for interviews, workshops and seminars for adults
and youth.
